Steven R. Marti

Steven Robert Marti, age 68, of Seymour, the beloved son of Irene Browning Marti and the late Frank V. Marti, entered into eternal rest peacefully on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at Griffin Hospital. He was born in Derby, CT., on March 22, 1954. Steven was a communicant of the Church of the Good Shepherd of St. Nicholas Parish of Seymour . He was a graduate of Seymour High School . Steven graduated from the University of New Haven with a BS Degree in Manufacturing Engineering and then attended Badger State to learn how to repair instruments. Steven was employed by Avco Lycoming, a division of Textron, in Stratford for 15 years, he then owned and operated Steve's Brass and Woodwinds. He was an avid musician and had his own band in high school and college called The Concords. He also enjoyed being an amateur radio hobbyist and was an fisherman. Most of all he loved to spend time with his family and many friends. Steven will be sadly missed by all but will remain forever in our hearts. His loving family in addition to his mother Irene of Seymour, includes his brother David Marti of Northford, his sister Dr. Leslie Marti and her husband Anthony of Shelton, his two cherished nieces Jennifer Ligas and her husband Todd of West Haven and Marisa Tyger and her husband Ben of Bethlehem, several great-nieces and great- nephews , a cousin Joan Russell and her husband John of Waterbury, two uncles Robert Browning of TN., and William Browning of GA. A Funeral Service in celebration of Steven's Life will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2022, at 10:15 am in the Chapel of the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank St. in Seymour prior to a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 am at The Church of the Good Shepherd of St. Nicholas Parish, 135 Mountain Rd. in Seymour. Internment in the family plot at Mountain Meadows Cemetery, 117 Mountain Rd in Seymour will follow. Calling hours for friends and family will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M., at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Steven's memory to The Church of the Good Shepherd of St. Nicholas Parish, through the funeral home.
