Susan Lynne Callaghan born in New Haven on July 11, 1953 passed away unexpectedly surrounded by her 4 "treasures" on February 18, 2024. Daughter to the late James Rooney and late Margaret Rooney. She is predeceased by her husband of 36 years Dennis Callaghan. Susan leaves behind her daughter Elyse (Bryan) her three sons Walt, Mark and Brent (Nicole). She was the most giving and loving Gramma to her 4 grandchildren Pauletta, Blake, Ryan and Gavin. She leaves behind her two brothers Gary and Jim Rooney and sister Gail Appel.

Susan worked for Lane Electrical up until her passing she was there for many years and loved working for her boss/friend Joe. Susan had an at home daycare for over a decade where so many kids loved her and still kept in touch to this day. She always said "those were some of the best days of my life."

Susan worked and also enjoyed her free time at Connies restaurant in Derby. Elyse and Brent would go all the time as kids to eat and run around the restaurant while Susie painted or decorated, we have many great memories of Connie's with the Staffieri's and the countless friends and extended family that were made along the years because of her and Dennis. Susan loved the Hallmark channel, giving gifts, trips with her sons, all the vacations we went on growing up. She loved spoiling her grandkids, visiting her brother Gary and dad in Bethany ever Sunday, girls night out with her close friends, love stories, her dog Kip, bragging about her 4 kids, decorating and hosting every holiday, seafood, her neighbors and being outside in the mornings or at night on the back deck with our dad getting fresh air.

She went above and beyond and always knew the right thing to say or the right card to mail when someone needed it.

We miss her more than words can express and we want her memory to live on forever.
