Tammy Jane Hazen

Tammy Jane Hazen, 54, of Newtown passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Danbury Hospital. Tammy was born in Sanford, ME, daughter of the late Elwood and Janice Tuttle, on April 3, 1961. She went to Seymour High School and Stone School of Business. Tammy had a passion for art and an unbelievable faith in God. She was one of the strongest people, beyond selfless and always cared about everyone before herself. Tammy loved everyone unconditionally and showed others to look for the best in people. She also showed all of those around her to love life for its simplicity and to always give without ever expecting anything in return. Everyone that met her was greeted with the world's largest, warmest hug and instantly gained a friend. She was survived by her devoted and loving husband Carl R. Hazen and her children John and Sara Hazen. Tammy is survived by her brother David, his wife Karen and children Alex and Cheryl Tuttle, as well as Carl's siblings and family. She was also preceded in death by her brother Danny and his wife Roberta. Tammy is survived by her Maine family, her dear friends Sylvia (Sylviar) and Frank Aulenti, Lilian Adams, and the Town of Newtown. A heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff on the 11th floor of Danbury Hospital for taking such great care Tammy.
