Thomas J. Giambra

Thomas Joseph Giambra of Seymour age 85, entered into eternal rest peacefully on December 16 2018 at St. Vincent Hospital, Bridgeport,CT. He was born on June 10, 1933 in Bridgeport, CT., to Elizabeth and Thomas Giambra. He married Rosemary Dinan Giambra on October 10, 1958. Thomas was a communicant of Church of The Good Shepherd of Seymour. Left to honor and remember his love are his two sons Thomas Joseph Giambra (Deborah) and David Dinan Giambra (Eleanor), four grandchildren Thomas, William, David and Megan; four great grandchildren Tyler, Jordan, Peighton and Madison and several nieces and nephews .Thomas was preceded in death by his parents and brother Edward and sisters Josephine and Elizabeth. Thomas will be remembered as a kind and gentle soul who loved his family and friends. Thomas worked for the New Britain Board of Education as a Physical Education Teacher for 38 years. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Springfield College and a Masters Degree from The University of Bridgeport. Tom also served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954 (Korean War). He was an avid fan of the UCONN Huskies, New York Yankees and the New York Giants. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial in Celebration of Thomas' Life will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at St. Nicholas Parish (Church of the Good Shepherd) 135 Mountain Rd, Seymour, with full Military Honors to be accorded after the mass. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Memorial gifts in memory of Thomas may be made to the St, Jude Children's Research Hospital , through the funeral home.
