Tracy Irene Goncalves, 59, a resident of Seymour, CT, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 28, 2024. Tracy was born on December 9, 1964, in Canton, Ohio, to Richard and Nancy McKenzie. She was a graduate of Masuk High School in Monroe, Connecticut. Following high school, she graduated from cosmetology school and later attended a program to become a travel agent.

Tracy worked as a Reservations and Airline Specialist for Tauck for 29 years. She loved her job, as it allowed her to travel, explore the world, and meet co-workers who became her lifelong friends. Tracy was known for her crafty ideas, always DIYing everything. Her infectious love for Christmas was well known. She enjoyed this time of year by spending her free time creating Christmas crafts to fill her house. Tracy was also known for taking in every animal she could, which was all of them. She will always be remembered for her experimental cooking and baking, which she always perfected.

Tracy is survived by her mother, Nancy McKenzie, of Charlotte, NC; her husband, Joseph Goncalves, of Seymour, CT; her children, Matthew Goncalves and Emily Bensen, and son-in-law, Alan Bensen, of Seymour, CT; sister, Kristen Panagrosso, and brother-in-law, Scott Panagrosso, of Charlotte, NC; and the person she adored the most, her first grandson, Caden Bensen. She is also survived by many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is predeceased by her father, Richard McKenzie, and grandparents, Henry and Zelma McKenzie, and Walter Oswald.

Family and friends will be received on August 1, 2024, between the hours of 4 and 8 p.m. at Miller Macari Family Funeral Home, 260 Bank St, Seymour, CT 06483. A funeral mass will be held on August 2, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Mountain Road, Seymour, CT 06483. A burial will immediately follow at Mount Saint Peter’s Cemetery, 219 New Haven Ave, Derby, CT 06418.

The family would like to thank all staff at Bridgeport Hospital & Smilow Cancer Hospital in Trumbull, especially the nursing staff who took such great care of Tracy. A special thank you to Constellation Hospice.
