Waleska Fernandez

Waleska Fernandez, 51, of Seymour, formerly of Naugatuck, the beloved lifetime partner of Mario Cardona, entered into eternal rest on Monday, June 13, 2011 at her home. She was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico on November 29, 1959, beloved daughter of the late Juan Felix and Esmeralda Morales. She was a devout communicant of the Church of the Good Shepherd, Seymour. Waleksa was a CNA and worked for the Nursing Home of Derby for many years. She loved her dogs, Dunkin and Ratdog, loved to cook and enjoyed salsa music. She loved being with her family and friends, and will be sadly missed by all. Her loving family includes her son, Neftaly Fernandez and his wife, Debra, of Naugatuck; her daughter Luz Eugenia Esmeralda Fernandez of Austin, TX; her sisters, Wanda Morales of Woodbridge, VA and Maria Morales of San Juan, Puerto Rico; several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on FRIDAY, JUNE 17 (DIRECTLY) at 10:00 am at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Mountain Road, Seymour, with the Reverend Edward S. Jaksina, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Friends and relatives may call on Thursday, June 16 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the Miller-Ward Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 260 Bank Street (RT. 67, opposite Klarides Village), Seymour.
