Wanda Zyskoski

Wanda Rafalowski Zyskoski, age 97 died June 30, 2012 at Bishop Wicke Health Care Center, Shelton, CT. She was the wife of the late Leonard Zyskoski. She was born in Trenton, NJ, July 27, 1914, daughter of the late Anthony and Alexandra Bielska Rafalowski. Prior to her retirement, Wanda had worked as a waitress at the former Town Liner, Derby, CT. She was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, Seymour, CT. She was an original member of the Mission Circle of St. Joseph's Church, Ansonia, CT. During World War II, Wanda followed her husband Master Sgt. Leonard Zyskoski through many deployments including training in the Southern United States and after the war being stationed in Germany for several years. Survivors include her cherished daughter Alma E. Zyskoski of Seymour, CT, her loving sister, Alma Roginel of Derby, CT, a special nephew, Henry and his wife Katherine Anderson, of Stamford, CT and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother and three sisters, Arthur Raffey, Gladys Androski, Helen Potkay, and Edwiga Peppler. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. at the Miller Ward Funeral Home 260 Bank Street (Rt. 67), Seymour, CT across from Klarides Village on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Good Shepherd 135 Mountain Road, Seymour, CT. Interment will be in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery, Derby, CT, following the Mass. Friends and relatives may call at the Funeral Home on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Church of the Good Shepherd, Seymour, CT.
