Warren Mantell Ferdina, 84, of Seymour the beloved husband of 60 years of Sylvia (Betty) Elizabeth Gazsi Ferdina entered into eternal rest unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, October 24 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Derby, CT on October 13, 1929 the beloved son of the late Ernst and Florence Mantell Ferdina. Warren was a US Army veteran of the Korean War and guarded the Berlin Wall. He was employed for 39 years at the former Seymour Brass Turning Company. He had worked at the Church of the Good Shepherd for nine years. Warren loved UCONN basketball, NY Yankees, NY Giants and going to the casinos with the seniors. He was an avid fisherman and he loved to walk daily. Warren was a lifelong resident of Seymour and will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. His loving family includes his beloved wife Betty and his cherished daughter Karen Carr and her husband Frederick (Ricky) of Naugatuck, three loving nieces and one nephew. Warren was predeceased by his beloved daughter Susan Elizabeth Marsillio and his beloved brother Herbert Ferdina. A Funeral Service in Celebration of Warren's life will be held on Monday, October 28 at 9:00 A.M. in the Chapel of the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank St. (opposite Klarides Village, Rt. 67) Seymour with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 A.M. at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Mountain Rd. Seymour. Interment in the family plot at St. Augustine Cemetery with Military Honors being accorded. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Sunday, October 27 from 2:00 to 5:00 P.M. Memorial gifts may be made in Warren's memory to the American School for the Deaf through the funeral home.
