William (Pops) C. Madley, age 72, of Seymour, the beloved husband of the late Patricia Wooster Madley, entered into rest on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at The Hewitt Memorial Healthcare of Shelton. He was born in New Haven on December 31, 1939, son of the late Louis and Mary Cvirko Madley. Bill was the retired Superintendent of the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation Toll Booth Collectors. He enjoyed horse racing, traveling, gardening, growing up in West Haven and especially loved going to Savin Rock. Bill was a resident of Seymour who had formerly had resided in West Haven. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. His loving family includes his three nieces April Hinds of Seymour, Shari Yachymczyk of Seymour and Rose Goldsmith of Merritt Island, FL, his two nephews Larry Goldsmith of Seymour and Joseph Goldsmith of Merritt Island, FL, several great nieces and great nephews and his good friend Donald Cameron of West Haven. He was predeceased by his sister Nancy Goldsmith. All services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in memory of Bill may be made to The Center for Cancer Care at Griffin Hospital, 350 Seymour Ave, Derby, CT 06418. The Miller-Ward Funeral Home of Seymour is caring for the family.
